Privacy

This is a starting draft that describes how the community software actually behaves. Have it reviewed against your own obligations before you rely on it.

What we store

• Your account — display name, email address, and anything you put in your profile.
• What you post — topics, replies, votes and saved topics. Posts and replies are public. Saved topics and votes are not shown to other members.
• Images you upload — stored on this site. Photo metadata, including any GPS location, is removed before the file is saved.
• Technical data — your IP address and browser string are used briefly to rate-limit posting and detect spam.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not use advertising or tracking cookies here.
• Avatars are drawn locally, so no third-party avatar service is contacted with your email.

Email

We email you when someone replies to you, mentions you, or marks your reply as the answer. You can turn those off in your settings, and the address is never used for marketing without asking you first.

Cookies

A session cookie keeps you signed in. Your theme preference is stored in your own browser and never sent to us.

How long we keep things

Posts stay as long as the community does, because a thread with the answers deleted is worse than useless to everyone who comes after. Read notifications are deleted after 60 days.

Your account, your call

You can ask for a copy of your data or for your account to be deleted. Contact the team and we will confirm what happens to your posts before we do anything irreversible.
