Are tall pins still safe or do they get cropped now?

I have a handful of step-by-step posts where a long pin genuinely works better - six steps stacked, one image each. They're around 1000x2100.

Someone told me anything past a certain height gets truncated in the feed now. I've never seen mine cut off, but I'm also not the audience and I only ever look at them on my own phone. Has anyone actually checked this recently on a fresh account?
