B2B SaaS. Is Pinterest just not for us, or am I missing something obvious?

Sofia Almeida

We sell project management software to agencies, ~$79/mo. Marketing lead here. My CEO keeps forwarding me articles about untapped Pinterest reach and I keep quietly not doing anything about it.

I've looked and I genuinely cannot picture the person who searches Pinterest and ends up on a SaaS pricing page. Has anyone made B2B work here without it being a case study written by an agency selling Pinterest services?

The B2B stuff that works here isn't the product, it's the adjacent lifestyle content. Freelancer/solopreneur audiences absolutely search Pinterest — client onboarding checklists, invoice templates, "how to organise a freelance business", productivity systems. If your ICP is agency owners you are probably chasing the wrong buyer for this platform. Agency owners aren't here. Solo freelancers who will one day run an agency might be.

we're B2B-ish (bookkeeping software for small biz) and pinterest is our #4 traffic source but converts at about a quarter of what google does. it feeds the top of the funnel and that's it. if your CEO wants demo bookings attributed to pinterest, that's not happening. if he wants email list growth, that's plausible.

Honest answer: for $79/mo project management software with an agency ICP, I'd skip it. Not because Pinterest can't do B2B, but because your payback on the effort is worse than just doing the same work on LinkedIn or search. Pinterest rewards a long consistent grind. If you're not going to give it 9-12 months, don't start.
