My numbers dipped about a week after I moved everything to a scheduler and I cannot shake the feeling that the two are connected. Is there any reason an API published pin would be treated differently, or is this pure coincidence and confirmation bias on my part?

Scheduling tools publish through the official Pinterest API and the pin that lands is the same object as one you made in the app. There is no lower tier for API pins. What actually gets people in trouble is what a scheduler makes easy, which is dumping 40 near identical pins in one burst because the queue allows it. Space them out naturally and the publishing method makes no difference.
