Ran an experiment. Two months at 5 fresh pins a day, then two months at 18. Impressions went up maybe 30 percent, nowhere near proportional. Outbound clicks were basically identical across both periods. I am trying to work out whether I hit a ceiling on the account or a ceiling on how many decent pins I can personally make in a day.
does pin volume still scale or does it flatten out past a certain number

That is the shape everyone gets. More pins buys you more lottery tickets but each ticket is worth less once you are past whatever the account can carry.
18 a day at the quality you can actually sustain is probably worse than 6 good ones. I did 20 a day for six weeks and my per pin numbers halved, so the total was flat and I had done four times the work for it.
What did the extra 13 a day point at? If it is the same 40 blog posts recycled with new headlines then you are mostly competing with yourself for the same queries, and the ceiling is your content library, not your cadence.
Mine scales cleanly up to about 10 and does nothing past that. Different niches probably sit at different numbers.
