Lost about 75 percent of impressions between June 10 and early July. By late August I was back to roughly 85 percent of where I had been, so not fully, but close enough to stop losing sleep. Four things changed in that window: cut from 14 pins a day to 7, made sure every single one used an image that had never been published before, stopped resaving my own older pins entirely, and fixed about 60 destination URLs that had broken during a site migration in May. I cannot prove which one mattered and I am fairly sure at least two of them did nothing.
took 9 weeks to get back from the june drop, here is what i actually changed

Honest of you to say you cannot prove it. I changed nothing at all and recovered about the same amount over roughly the same period, which makes me think most of this was whatever they were testing finishing rather than anything either of us did.
The broken URL part is underrated. I found about 200 after a migration and fixing them moved my numbers inside two weeks, which was faster than anything else I have ever tried.
Good writeup. The volume cut is the piece I would push back on. I went the other direction during the same window, roughly doubled output, and recovered too. Probably means cadence was not the variable for either of us.
