Your brand palette is probably why your pins disappear

JayDee

Every pin the same muted sage and cream, every headline the same medium weight serif. Beautiful board, invisible feed.

What fixed it for me: keep the type consistent and let the colour move. Type is what people recognise anyway - the shapes, the layout, the crop. Colour is what has to fight whatever is sitting next to you in the grid, and whatever is sitting next to you is usually louder than sage.

Not saying go neon. Saying your palette needs at least one high contrast member and you should actually use it.

This is right and it took me embarrassingly long to accept. Recognition lives in the type and the layout. Colour is a variable, not an identity.

Mostly agree, but there's a version of this that goes badly, where someone reads it as "be loud" and ends up with five different loud pins that have nothing in common with each other. The consistency has to move somewhere, not just evaporate.

Practical test: screenshot your own feed, paste one of your pins into it in a mockup, then look away and look back. If you can't find your own pin in three seconds nobody else is going to.
